Windy days puts damper on holiday fishing Although Anna Maria Island fishers are experiencing day after day of wind, those willing to persevere are finding a bite. With almost spring-like conditions in January, AMI fishing is exceptional. Whether inshore, nearshore or offshore, there are fish to be caught and beautiful weather to enjoy. The inshore bite for spotted seatrout is proving to be quite good when using artificials such as soft plastics combined with a jig head. While targeting trout, you will […]
The gift of fishing — the perfect present I think Santa Claus gave us an early Christmas Present this year. In my Just Reel Fishing charters throughout the waters of Palma Sola Bay, north to the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and out to Egmont Key, I am not noticing any red tide. In fact, the waters […]

Fishing the eastern shorelines of Tampa Bay and its connecting waters is proving to provide […]
Head north for consistent fishing action
It’s no trick — fishing is a treat as red tide levels diminish As of writing this report, red tide levels around Anna Maria Island seem to be lessening as the days go by. Proof of this exists along the beaches where vast schools of bait fish are gathering — attracting predatory species such as Spanish […]
